Why Python for scripting? (Scripting is a great idea, but BeanShell wouldn't force Java developers to learn a new language)
Because I (Leo) like python. It should be trivial to implement the same concepts with BeanShell. Seems like a good idea to offer the choice
Actually, I ate my preconceptions and dove into BeanShell, and fell in love. There's now pico-based beanshell-scripted component support in CVS. Which is destined to make it into nanocontainer, by the way.
Why yet-another IoC container?
Because I like writing containers (ie, for fun), and because none of the other containers solutions around combined the exact features and architecture that I wanted.
Why is my question not being answered?
Open source developers are a busy bunch, and I'm no different. There could be a variety of reasons. I might be busy doing other stuff, your question may already have been answered elsewhere (try searching the wiki and the mailing list archives) so often that no-one is bothering to reply at all, or your question may simply have slit out of sight. If you don't get a response in a week or so, complain about it on the jicarilla-devel mailing list. Be gentle though, I have a thin skin
