I enjoy nearly any kind of problem-solving, including but not limited to programming, chess, puzzles, and detective-style computer games. I'm a big music and movie freak and a self-proclaimed trekkie. I enjoy reading (including modern literature, ancient and modern philosophy, popular science), writing (bad poetry and essays) and long discussions (mostly accompanied by beer or scotch). I love sailing and judo and wish I did both more often.
I used to play games like Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering. I also used to act (and sing a little) in school plays and musicals, be a part of the school newspaper, etc. I want to build my own boat once, restore an old car once, and maybe win a nobel prize.
I live on the University Campus in Enschede with seven flatmates in a funny pyramid. I used to have a girlfriend, Froukje. I have a single brother, Wouter. My parents used to have a weblog about their great 1-year sailing adventure.
